North Carolina commodity groups to meet

The Joint Annual Conference of the North Carolina Corn, Cotton, Small Grains and Soybean Associations will meet in New Bern, N.C., at the Riverfront Convention Center, Jan. 14-15, 2010.

The Joint Conference begins at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, with annual business meetings for the members of the four associations. The invited keynote speaker, Thomas Dorr, a former undersecretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is scheduled to speak at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The Joint Conference includes a full day of marketing and production seminars, a lunch, yield contests results and awards, and the annual awards banquet on Thursday evening. Friday’s schedule includes a complimentary breakfast and a series of production seminars, concluding at 11:30 a.m.
