Alabama farmer champions Invest An Acre program to ease rural hunger

Alabama farmer Annie Dee gave two presentations on crop production practices and soybean rust problems at the National Conservation Systems Cotton and Rice Conference in Tunica, Miss. But Dee also took time out to talk about a project that is near and dear to her heart.

The Invest An Acre program gives producers the opportunity to designate a portion of their crop to help feed the hungry in rural communities. Dee talks about the program each time she gets an opportunity as she did to an audience of about 700 farmers at the National Conservation Systems Conference.
