Solar energy growing on Georgia farms


Solar energy and agriculture seem an obvious fit. "The farmer is a patient man, generally speaking ... and they understand harvesting the sun," says Pete Marte with Hannah Solar, an Atlanta-based company that has grown in recent years as agriculture, particularly Georgia farmers and ag-related businesses, look to capture the sun and make money doing it. Marte speaks with Farm Press associate editor Brad Haire about solar expansion on Southern farms, how much it costs, how tax credits can help pa for it and how farmers can get in the game.
