The 2001 Alabama Wiregrass Cotton Expo is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the Ozark Civic Center, according to Dale Monks, Auburn University Extension cotton specialist. This year's Expo will feature a variety of speakers, in addition to a sponsored lunch, says Monks.

Scheduled speakers and their topics include the following: Irrigation Perspectives for South Alabama, Larry Curtis, Auburn University Extension engineer; Impact of Cotton Quality on the Southeast, Jeff Thompson, Autauga Quality Cotton Association; Cotton Market Outlook: What Lies Ahead in 2001? Ed Jernigan, senior vice president, Fimat USA, Inc.; Variety Selections for 2001, Dale Monks; Marketing in the Red Zone, Bob Goodman, Auburn University Extension cotton specialist; Crop Insurance Considerations, Eric O'Bryan, O'Bryan Agri-Insurance; Cotton Defoliation and Quality Concerns, Mike Patterson, Auburn University Extension agronomist and Charles Ed Snipes, Mississippi State University.

Registration for the Expo will begin at 9 a.m. with the program beginning at 10 a.m. The meeting will adjourn at 3 p.m.
