As a grower, vendor or supplier to the Southeastern fruit and vegetable industry, you are invited to attend the Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference in Savannah, Ga., on Jan. 9 -11, 2009, for the largest educational conference and trade show in the Southeastern United States.

Educational programs and trade show activities will be held at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.

The Southeast Regional Conference has become one of the best production-oriented conferences in the nation. A major part of this success is the educational conference offering commodity-specific information for peach, general vegetable, watermelon, Vidalia Onions, muscadine, pecan, blueberry and strawberry.

There are also educational programs focusing on Food Safety, Organic Production and Roadside Marketing. Attendees can learn the latest trends and new research, hear cutting-edge information, and discover solutions that will help take their business to the next step. The educational program is tailored to provide growers what they need to know to be competitive in today's market.

Nationally-renowned speakers offer a good opportunity for growers to increase their knowledge base and market share. During the two-day program, more than 60 hours of production training, pest management information, and marketing updates are offered to attendees. In addition, agricultural scientists will present results of their studies in posters for review. All educational sessions will be held at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center, across the Savannah River on Hutchinson Island.

In addition to the commodity production sessions, special Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Food Safety, Organic Production and Roadside Markets Workshops will be held.

The Southeast Regional Conference is sponsored by the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association and the South Carolina Peach Council. The conference is held in partnership with Georgia Blueberry Growers Association, Georgia/South Carolina Certified Roadside Markets, Georgia Strawberry Association, Georgia Muscadine Association, Georgia Organics Inc., South Carolina Strawberry Growers, South Carolina Muscadine Growers, Georgia Peach Council, Georgia Pecan Association, Georgia Watermelon Association, South Carolina Vegetable Association, Vidalia Onion Committee, Southern Region Small Fruit Consortium, University of Georgia and Clemson University.
