Are you an entrepreneur? Are you considering an alternative or value-added agricultural enterprise? If so, make plans to attend the Idea to Enterprise Conference: Tools to Transform Creativity to Profit on March 8 in Cookeville, Tenn.

"This conference is ideal for anyone considering a new, alternative, or value-added agricultural enterprise," says Benjamin Sanders, a University of Tennessee Extension marketing specialist with the Center for Profitable Agriculture. "We intend to provide the tools necessary for an entrepreneur to take a creative idea and turn it into profit."

The conference will focus on topics such as marketing, business planning, financial management, generating ideas, and evaluating new enterprises. All sessions will be held at the Roaden University Center at Tennessee Technological University.

The one-day educational conference will begin with registration at 8 a.m. and conclude at approximately 4:30 p.m. This event is free of charge to all participants. The deadline for registration is March 1, 2007.

To register, send: name, address, e-mail, phone, and county of residence to the Center for Profitable Agriculture at P.O. Box 1819, Spring Hill, Tenn. 37174 or e-mail the Center at cpa@utk.edu.

The Idea to Enterprise Conference is part of the 19-country Developing Rural Businesses Program, administered by the UT Center for Profitable Agriculture and funded, in part, by USDA Rural Development.
