Southern Peanut Growers (SPG) announces the official launch of its redesigned website, http://www.PeanutButterLovers.com.

Serving both consumer and trade audiences, the new site reinforces SPG’s role as the voice of the U.S. peanut industry and its products, while vowing to “spread it on thick” for peanut butter lovers everywhere.

“First and foremost, the website aims to encourage experimentation with peanut butter, offering mouth watering peanut butter recipes flanked with gorgeous photography,” says Leslie Wagner, executive director of the non-profit representing peanut farmers in Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.

“We plan to continue expanding our consumer and foodservice recipe offerings to meet the demand for both traditional and non-traditional uses of this versatile, nutritious kitchen staple.”

The site also contains valuable food safety and educational information, including the U.S. peanut industry’s Good Management Practices, a new “Spread the Love” blog and regular grower spotlights. Coined “Growers We Dig.” This new section features outstanding growers and handlers, and underscores their commitment to providing safe, wholesome and nutritious peanuts and peanut products to consumers worldwide.

Wagner says U.S. peanut industry members can access industry information via http://www.SouthernPeanutGrowers.com.

SPG partnered with Harvest PR & Marketing, Inc., Minneapolis and Portland, Ore., which completed the website overhaul in a two-month period.

Harvest PR began its relationship with SPG in 2009, selecting the non-profit as its first $20,000 “Seed to Succeed” PR Grant recipient. As part of the grant, Harvest PR created SPG’s now annual “PB my way” consumer recipe contest.

“We couldn’t be happier with our new site,” Wagner says. “It’s fresh, modern and inviting, and it perfectly portrays the essence of our modern-day peanut industry.”

To stay current on peanut butter and receive new recipes, Wagner encourages peanut butter lovers to sign up for the monthly e-newsletter at http://www.PeanutButterLovers.com.
