The Sunbelt Expo’s popular hunting and fishing exhibit section has been a mainstay of the farm show since 1988.
You’ll find most of these exhibits in Agribusiness Building-4 in the northern section of the exhibit grounds.
These exhibits will feature hunting knives, binoculars and scopes, camouflage clothing, game calls, hunting stands, archery supplies and hunting and fishing videos.
Fishing boats, game feeders and deer stands are among the exhibits expected for this year’s show. Firearms manufacturers will also be well represented. Don’t overlook the impressive trophy mounts of deer and other game animals.
In short, Expo offers a great opportunity to check out most anything you’d need for your next hunting, fishing, hiking or camping trip.
This year, longtime Expo exhibitor Gary Sefton will be coordinating the seminar presentations in the hunting and fishing exhibits. Tennessee-based Sefton is a well-known writer, public speaker, musician and outdoorsman. He is known for his understanding of wild animals and how to call them to a central location such as a hunting blind. Sefton will be representing Knight & Hale Game Calls during this year’s Expo.
An expert in deer and turkey sounds, Sefton has been a featured speaker at more than 20 major trade shows each year for the past 20 years. An award winning outdoor writer, he is a frequent contributor to national and regional outdoor publications. He has also appeared on nationally syndicated television and radio programs and he is featured on several DVD’s.
He also composed and performed the “Magnificent Bird” CD, a musical tribute to the wild turkey. An accomplished competitive caller, he was the 1993-94 World Deer Calling Champion and holds several state and national titles in friction and open turkey calling contests. He has also judged the Grand National Turkey Calling Contest and the Great American Game Calling Challenge.
Basic game calling techniques
Sefton’s deer and turkey calling seminars have enabled thousands of hunters to understand and successfully communicate with deer and wild turkeys. Sefton will be demonstrating basic game calling techniques for bringing in deer, wild hogs, turkeys and squirrels. His presentations will take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day of the show.
Sam Kight with Wilderness Calls will also return with a program on outdoors youth safety. He’ll tell how time spent hunting and fishing with children will create lasting memories that you both will cherish.
The Expo also hopes to welcome outdoors experts to talk about food plots and other possibilities for providing feed for wildlife game targets. In addition, the Expo hopes to welcome a professional angler to give fishing tips on bringing in trophy fish.
