The latest research and Extension information on traditional crops like cotton, corn, peanuts and soybeans, plus newer crops to the area, like grain sorghum, flax and bioenergy grasses will be featured at a Turf and Farm Field Day, set for Aug. 6, at the Pee Dee Agriculture Research and Extension Center in Florence, South Carolina.
The meeting, which begins with registration at 8 a.m. will feature three stops, including cotton peanuts and corn on Tour 1; soybeans, tobacco, and turfgrass on Tour 2; and sorghum, flax and bioenergy and wildlife crops on Tour 3.
The Pee Dee Research and Extension Center is located on Pocket Road, just north of Florence, and is a main agricultural research and outreach facility of Clemson University.
In addition to tours of field plots and presentations by Clemson researchers and agribusiness leaders, the field day will include a picnic lunch, served at the station.
CCA & Pesticide Applicator recertification credits (CCHs) will be available for growers during the meeting.
