Peanut growers to conduct ‘listening session’

The purpose of the meeting is to gather input on the upcoming farm bill as it relates to peanuts.

• The Alabama Peanut Producers Association will be holding a "listening session" for the peanut industry on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at The Gathering Place in Headland, Ala., from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.



Peanut growers will have a special opportunity this week to voice their opinions on the upcoming farm bill.

The Alabama Peanut Producers Association will be holding a "listening session" for the peanut industry on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at The Gathering Place in Headland, Ala., from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.



The purpose of the meeting is to gather input on the upcoming farm bill as it relates to peanuts.

Congresswoman Martha Roby, who serves on the House Agriculture Committee, will be in attendance to hear comments.



Growers from the tri-states area are encouraged to attend the meeting.

The Gathering Place is located at 16070 Hwy. 431 North, Headland, Ala.
