Producers have overwhelmingly voted to continue the efforts of the North Carolina Peanut Growers Association (NCPGA).

In the once-every-sixth-year referendum, 341 peanut producers voted to continue the NCPGA. Only seven producers voted no in the referendum

“I was thoroughly pleased with the majority of North Carolina peanut producers expressing faith in the activities we conduct,” says Bob Sutter, CEO of the grower organization. “We will try to continue to look out for the interests of the peanut producers in North Carolina.”

Producers who produced one or more acres or had an interest in the 2000 crop voted in a March 1 referendum at county FSA offices.
