South Carolina's Pee Dee station schedules field day

South Carolina’s Pee Dee Research and Education Center Farm and Field Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008.

The field day includes a Commodity Marketing Update by Edgar Woods and educational tours of the research station. Field crops, wildlife research plots, turf grass, and muscadine grapes will be featured in the morning, followed by a picnic lunch.

Optional pesticide certification credit and Certified Crop Advisor classes will be held in the afternoon.

Registration, which is free and includes the picnic lunch, begins at 8 a.m. followed by field tours of research and educational displays at 9 a.m. When registering, indicate a choice for morning tours including: Turfgrass, Cotton & Soybeans, Corn/Peanuts/Muscadines/Tobacco, or Biofuels/Switchgrass/Wildlife.
