Commodity Classic offers bright horizons

Corn, soybean, wheat and sorghum growers who attend the 14th Annual Commodity Classic, Feb. 26-28, in Grapevine, Texas, will “discover bright horizons.” Through valuable educational sessions, growers will learn how to improve farm efficiency and profitability from respected industry leaders.
“Producers will have many opportunities to learn the best methods for improving productivity on their farms in addition to learning about new products and technologies,” said Commodity Classic Co-Chair Steve Yoder.
Growers at the 2009 Commodity Classic are sure to benefit from the value of attending a trade show with over 900 booths representing the equipment, technology, products and services of today’s leading agricultural businesses and organizations.
Emcee of Commodity Classic’s General Session, Mark Mayfield, better known as “The Corporate Comedian,” will captivate and entertain with his hilarious presentation style. Sam Glenn, one of the nation’s top motivational speakers and author of “A Kick in the Attitude,” will inspire attendees through art and humor and explain how to change attitudes and live big.
Another highlight of Commodity Classic will be the “Evening of Entertainment” featuring performances by Grammy award-winners Pam Tillis and Riders In The Sky. Singer, songwriter and actress Pam Tills, a Country Music Association Vocalist of the Year, has written songs for Conway Twitty, Chaka Kahn, Highway 101 and Martina McBride.
She starred in Leiber and Stoller’s “Smokey Joe’s Café” on Broadway and appeared in the “Promised Land” and “L.A. Law” television series. Tillis, the daughter of country legend Mel Tillis, was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2000.
Riders In The Sky members Ranger Doug, Too Slim, Woody Paul and Joey the Cowpolka King are known as “America’s favorite cowboys.” In addition to being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and being named the Western Music Association Entertainers of the Year six times, Riders In The Sky also performed a song for Disney’s “Toy Story 2.”
