Alabama to hold farm labor shortage meeting Dec. 6

• Representatives from Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, Alabama Department of Industrial Relations, Alabama Southern Federal District Court, South Alabama Nursery Association, Guest Worker Specialists and the Alabama Department of Corrections are scheduled to present ideas for offsetting the state’s shortage of available labor following Alabama’s new immigration law.

Farmers and agribusiness owners will have an opportunity to discuss labor shortage issues and explore potential solutions during a meeting with state and federal officials at Jon Archer Agricultural Center in Mobile Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m.

Representatives from Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, Alabama Department of Industrial Relations, Alabama Southern Federal District Court, South Alabama Nursery Association, Guest Worker Specialists and the Alabama Department of Corrections are scheduled to present ideas for offsetting the state’s shortage of available labor following Alabama’s new immigration law.

There is no cost for the meeting, and all agribusiness owners and farmers are encouraged to attend.
