China’s growing demand for meat protein is forcing its livestock sector closer to a “western” style ration, and that means China’s demand for corn may be higher than analysts have been predicting. Bill Cordingley, a native of Australia who now heads Rabobank International-Americas’ economic analysis unit, says China could need as much as 80 million metric tons of corn per year. He made those comments during a presentation sponsored by Rabobank at this year’s Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show in Denver.
