University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) will host the first annual AGRItunity 2006 conference, “Meeting the Needs of Farmers Large and Small,” on Dec. 2, 2006 at the West Central Florida Agriculture & Education Center (7620 SR 471) in Bushnell, Fla.

AGRItunity 2006 is a combination educational conference and trade show being designed with the needs of all Florida agricultural interests in mind. The general session, which focuses on marketing and business management, will kick-off the event with ideas to increase efficiency on large or small farms.

The keynote speaker is Jane Eckert, a nationally renowned expert on direct farm marketing, who will make a presentation titled “Sewing Seeds for Profit.”

The 16 scheduled breakout sessions will cover topics including, “Blueberries and Other Fruit Crops,” “Agricultural Business and Marketing,” “Organic & Sustainable Topics/Vegetable Production,” “Livestock” and “Ornamental Crops.”

The purpose of this conference and trade show is to provide attendees with the vital information necessary to make significant improvements in the viability of their agribusinesses.

The fee, which is $10 for early registration and $15 at the door, includes refreshments and conference materials.
