A field day is scheduled Aug. 21 at the Tidewater Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Suffolk, Va.
Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. and tours start at 8 a.m. Lunch is provided.
Steve Umberger, director of the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service, will give the keynote address.
Field tour highlights include new cotton and peanut varieties; food-grade soybeans; insect and disease management; forages for southeast Virginia; use of ultrasound in swine; vegetable and alternative crops; getting the most from cotton pickers and peanut combines.
