A workshop involving the “Comprehensive Approach to farm Business Succession Planning” scheduled for April 22 in Greenville, N.C., has been cancelled. It will be re-scheduled at a later date.
This workshop was one in a series sponsored by the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service, in cooperation with the North Carolina state University Cooperative Extension Service, Virginia Tech and the North Carolina Farm Transition Network Inc.
Workshops scheduled for April 25 in Statesville, N.C., May 16 in Chesapeake, Va., and May 17 in Wakefield, Va., will proceed as scheduled.
The cost for a full-day workshop is $10 and includes lunch. A farm family discount is available for two or three members of the same family farm at $15. The cost is $20 for four members of the same family farm.
Topics at the workshop include: Initiating the process, evaluating the business, farm transition stages, business structure and tying it all together.
