The annual meeting of the American Peanut Research and Education Society will be held July 14–17, 2009 at the Marriott Raleigh City Center in Raleigh, N.C.

Registration will begin at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, July 14th.

Research and Extension papers will be presented on all phases of the peanut industry.

The American Peanut Research and Education Society has members from numerous universities, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, representatives from peanut grower organizations, and the peanut processing industry.

The organization’s goal is to work together to serve the American public, peanut farmers and the peanut industry through research and educational programs. The group strives to increase the quality of the peanut crop through improved production, harvesting and processing techniques, improved peanut pest management strategies, and improvement of the peanut plant through plant breeding.
