AGCO Application Equipment has announced the 18-month transition of the Ag-Chem brand sales business to a dealer network is complete. The final distribution system consists of 38 dealers selling and servicing the complete line of Ag-Chem's application equipment products.

In response to the changing needs of its customers, in 2007 Ag-Chem made the decision to move application equipment sales of the RoGator and TerraGator to a dealer network. Many of those dealers had already been providing maintenance and service support as well as after-the-sale parts to Ag-Chem's custom applicator and grower customers. Most of these dealers also carry AGCO's Challenger line of farm equipment products.

These dealers will now provide ag retailers and professional producers in North America with a one-stop source for RoGator and TerraGator application equipment sales, support and related spraying accessories.

“Our dealers have hired most of the Ag-Chem sales force, retaining more than 80 percent of the original team. Employing an experienced and knowledgeable sales staff that has solid relationships with both the customers and manufacturer has helped make the transition more seamless,” says Doug Daws, Ag-Chem director of sales.

“These dealers are able to couple an experienced sales team with a unique approach to in-field service designed to keep Ag-Chem equipment performing at its peak and maximizing customers' uptime in the field,” he adds.

The realignment is designed to further reinforce the company's commitment to its spraying business. This distribution approach more closely matches dealer expertise and service offerings to the needs of both agricultural retailers and progressive producers.
