2008 Farm Day set Feb. 13

The 2008 Farm Day, an annual regional free event for producers in southwest Alabama and northwest Florida is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Walnut Hill Community Center in Walnut Hill, Fla.

The community center is located on Highway 97 in northwest Florida.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and sessions begin at 8:30 a.m.

Topics and speakers include the following: Cotton Varieties and Production, Steve M. Brown and Dale Monks; Corn Production in the Coastal South, David Wright; Wheat: What to Do Now to Finish the Crop, David Wright and Bob Kemerait; Soybeans: Production and Disease Control, Ed Sikora and Dennis Delaney; Peanuts: Varieties, Disease Control and Cost-Cutting Measures, John Beasley and Bob Kemerait; and Economics, Marketing and a Crystal Ball Look into 2008 Prices, Marshall Lamb.
